I love it when people phone for reservations and ask for a cozy quiet table, and I say...."so, it's your first time here then?!"
What you can expect at Soupçon is a lively tiny 14 seat restaurant overlooking the Gatineau River on Wakefield’s main Riverside Drive where I, Tanya Skeates, or the chef will greet you. I'm fussy about the details; I try to remember your name, what you drink, your tastes, and even your dog's name. You'll notice that we like all kinds of music and we laugh a lot. That' not to say we don't take this place seriously, we do, trust me. Mike the chef, butchers all of our meat that we source locally, all of our fish comes from the Whalesbone where they only deal in sustainable fishing methods, we have 2 vegetable farms that grow a lot of our veggies, we even have Tomy from Forest Express who digs up mushrooms, fiddle-heads, and blueberries for us! We even have a patio where Nicole the gardening guru makes it better year after year. (A few photos)
